Therefore, from a social perspective this type of video media will be a great tool to persuasive and encourage the audience to take action base on the issue that is presented. Gladwell states that while the new technology encourages and gives opportunities to the protesters and activism, it also allows foreigners felt empowered and confident to stand up for freedom and democracy. This is in the contrast of the “Twitter movements” (Gladwell, 2010). Within in one month times the number of people reaches to 70,000. In 1960s civil rights movement in the US support for the movement grew wild. In addition, for a personal project it will be a great idea to highlight the words that are relevant to your feeling or express your personality by using colors or bold text.Īccording to Gladwell’s article he mentioned about social media and how people interacted with it. I believe it will be a strong persuasive presentation to others. In this case, finding a song or multiple songs that relate to the social issue that I want to express or talk about and highlight the words or text from the lyrics and then combine and remix them into a new typography lyrics video. More specifically the author mentions the challenges on participants of civil rights movement. From the reading New Media and Activism it discusses the differences between activism of the past and modern day virtual activism. I will make this a persuasive video to express myself, issues or things that I want to share to the public. For me instead of focus on the music I will make the video that allows the users to pay attention on what the lyrics or words’ is trying to say. But in this video, it is all about the lyrics. Normally, when we watch or hear a song on YouTube we did not expect to see a lot of words or text. In this video you can see the dynamic change on media presentation. The reason I choose to critique this video is to see if I am in the position of design the same project how I would do it differently. This is a really cool video especially the design layout of the lyrics is perfectly displayed. This is the first time that I have watched a typography lyrics video, and I am admired to make one by myself. Please keep in mind that this is very early work and is rough around the edges, but the methodology and underlying service is sound.Critique Project: Mos Def “Mathematics” Kinethic Typography Lyrics Video by Maher, James Russell : The following video demonstrates an initial deliverable where one can export content from a Sakai 2 site and then import that content into a Sakai 3 site. The primary use case that we are tackling first is the ability of an instructor who taught a class last semester in Sakai 2 to be able to import that site template into Sakai 3. This will give the user the ability to mix and match both Sakai 2 and Sakai 3 functionality in a single user experience. The next step in the hybrid mode evolution will be the ability to place individual Sakai 2 tools onto Sakai 3 pages which live in Sakai 3 sites. This capability supports this use as Sakai 3 sites can be used for project sites while Sakai 2 continues to serve the course site needs. We anticipate that institutions will want to start using Sakai 3 for full-fledged project and committee work before course work. The following video demonstrates the first step in realizing hybrid mode: the ability to expose entire Sakai2 sites within the Sakai 3 portal. Hybrid mode will facilitate this approach by allowing institutions to deploy Sakai 3 and take advantage of the new features while still relying on Sakai 2 for the features not yet available in Sakai 3. For example, Sakai 3 will not have all of the functionality available in Sakai 2 day one, but their will be some compelling functionality that institutions will want to adopt before all of the functionality gaps have been closed. The hybrid mode will allow institutions to adopt Sakai 3 at a pace that is comfortable for them. There are two overarching goals to achieve in this project: 1) seamlessly exposing Sakai 2 functionality within Sakai 3 (which we are dubbing “hybrid” mode) and 2) content migration.
ONCOURSE THE REMIX UPDATE
In doing so, it became clear that this kind of update might also be useful to the community at large. David Goodrum asked me to provide an update to the Oncourse Priorities Committee regarding the progress made towards Sakai 2->3 integration and migration.
